Dr. Amir Shayesteh’s distinguished clinical background represents a level of expertise held by fewer than 1% of dental professionals nationwide.
After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he attended the Howard University College of Dentistry. He graduated at the top of his class, earning the prestigious Dean’s Award, and was elected into the elite Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) national dental honor society. Recognizing his clinical acumen, the university invited him to serve as clinical faculty where he helped teach dental students.
Following dental school, Dr. Amir Shayesteh committed to nearly six years of intensive, post-doctoral specialized residency training to master two distinct dental specialties:
- Periodontics & Implant Surgery: Completed an advanced specialty residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, earning his Master of Science (MS) and specialized degree focusing on the foundational health of the gums and jawbone.
- Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics: Completed a second, highly rigorous specialty residency at Seton Hill University, mastering complex orthodontic tooth movement, facial aesthetics, and jaw alignment for children, teens, and adults.

Dr. Amir Shayesteh is a Board-Certified Diplomate of both the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Board of Periodontology. As an experienced aviator, he holds a commercial pilot license, bringing the same level of precision, focus, and dedication to the skies as he does to his Encino orthodontic practice.
Dr. Shayesteh is happily married and the proud father of one daughter. He cherishes his time outside the clinic, whether he is exploring the skies or enjoying quality time with his family in the local San Fernando Valley community.
