TADs

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) are small titanium anchors that are temporarily placed in the bone to assist with difficult tooth movements.

TADs provide an additional anchorage point for your orthodontic appliances, allowing for more precise and effective tooth alignment. This innovative solution is particularly useful in cases where traditional braces may not be sufficient to achieve the desired results.

TAD retainers are minimally invasive and can be easily placed in a short procedure at our office. The devices are typically used in conjunction with braces or other orthodontic appliances to provide extra support and control during treatment. Once the desired movement is achieved, the TADs are removed, leaving no lasting impact on your oral health.

Patients who require TADs benefit from faster and more accurate treatment, often resulting in a reduced overall treatment time. Dr. Shayesteh’s expertise in utilizing TADs ensures that you receive the most advanced care tailored to your specific orthodontic needs.

Palatal Expanders

Palatal expanders are orthodontic devices that widen the upper jaw, creating more space for teeth alignment.

This treatment is particularly effective for children and teenagers, as their jaws are still growing and can be easily guided into the correct position.

Functional Appliances

Functional appliances are used in orthodontics to correct jaw alignment and improve the overall function of the bite. These devices are most commonly used in growing children and adolescents to guide the development of the jaw and teeth, ensuring a harmonious and functional bite.

There are various types of functional appliances, including removable and fixed devices, each
tailored to address specific orthodontic issues. These appliances work by applying gentle pressure to the teeth and jaws, encouraging them to grow into the correct position.

Functional appliances can be particularly effective in treating conditions such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, which, if left untreated, can lead to more severe issues in adulthood.

The use of functional appliances can reduce the need for more invasive treatments, such as jaw surgery, by addressing alignment issues early on.

Dr. Shayesteh will evaluate your child’s orthodontic needs and recommend the most appropriate functional appliance for your child’s smile. We’ll schedule regular check-ups and adjustments to monitor progress and make any necessary modifications to the treatment plan.
